What inspired you to write your memoir?
I thought that a sub culture like the outlaw biker world, that is a part of history, might be of interest to someone who would like to know the thoughts of someone who had lived it for over 50 years as he experienced it day to day. Not just a documentary, like most memoirs of this kind. This one is the first of a three part series. After all, 50 years is a long time, especially the way we lived it. About your Book:
I am pleased with my book. I am told by others who lived the life that they were also. What more could an author want.
Author Bio:
71 years old, still riding. White male. Lived it and done it.
How did you decide how to publish your book and where is it published through:
I have a friend, Sharon Smith, who writes an online column Examiner, com about the bikers scene in the Dallas, Tx. area. I sent her a couple of old school biker stories. She had a great response from her readers and suggested i put it in a book. I had written a rough draft already with this in mind but, that got me on the road to actually doing it. Sharon is also my editor. I used a company named “One Book At A Time” to print the book. I decided to self publish as many good books were turned down that went on to be classics. Besides if I ever talk to an agent or whoever, i have a finished book to show them.

What inspired you to write your memoir?
In 2011 I was given the opportunity to share publicly about my thyroid journey from diagnosis, to treatment, to acceptance of the condition I now have.
The reason why I’ve decided to write a memoir is because while going through this health scare, my husband and I watched as five family members died within a seventeen month period. And we also went through significant job changes due to the down economy. There was a lot of life lessons learned during this season that I believe many people will be able to relate to, and learn from, as they read this book.
About your Book:
There are seasons in life that are long, painful and really shake us to the very core of our human existence. By the end of that season of hardship, we emerge from the abyss being better off for it. And we see that without that trial we really do not get to experience what it means to truly live.
Five times in seventeen months death came knocking at the door. For this one young woman it included having to do the unthinkable; she buried her grandfather on her own. Grief and loss were common themes throughout this winter faith season. Then an inch size growth was detected on her thyroid. Three days after her thyroid surgery, another family member died.
This is a timely memoir about how severe pain and loss helped one woman come full circle with her childhood, find her purpose, and prepare her to raise up the next generation.

Whether it is writing, producing, or public speaking Stacey enjoys working on projects that teach, inspire, and give perspective and a sense of purpose to others.
In 2011 Stacey did just that when she was given the opportunity to share publicly about her thyroid journey. At the time of her diagnosis, she was freelance producing for a quarterly health and lifestyle television show in Boston. Several tests indicated that there was an inch size growth on the left side of her thyroid, and it needed to be removed. She pitched to the production team that she was willing to have her surgery filmed and do a segment on thyroid health. September of 2011 the TV segment aired on “Better Living with Liz Walker” and it publicly portrayed the diagnosis, treatment, and acceptance of the thyroid autoimmune condition Stacey now has.
Since then, Stacey continues to be an active voice in raising thyroid awareness. She was featured in the January 2012 edition of Empower Magazine “I Get By with a Little Support from My Friends,” and was a live guest on the Boston-based Jordan Rich Radio show. She regularly blogs about her personal experience, writes about thyroid health for Examiner.com, and is a contributing writer for the soon-to-go-live AutoimmuneMom.com. In June 2012, one year after her thyroid surgery, Stacey’s story “A New Voice” was featured on the I am Second website.

What Inspired You to Write Your Book?
This book popped into my head in the middle of a very difficult time in my life and just wouldn’t leave. The more I thought about it, the more it grew and fleshed out into a series. So I started writing and all kind of came out.

From Genna:
I was born and raised in Alaska. My town, called North Pole, was pretty small and I spent many nights writing away in my room as I watched snow fall outside my window. When I was younger, I started off writing mostly poetry and short stories. I was first nationally published when I was 16 and my first volume of poetry was published when I was 18. I had some minor success as a poet and short story writer, but after I graduated high school and left home for Chicago, I went to film school and that is when I knew I wanted to make the transition to screenwriting. During film school I studied Motion Picture and Television Screenwriting and I’ve been writing screenplay and scripts full-time ever since. I’ve sold a handful of short scripts and currently have a feature script being optioned.
“Lights, Camera – Wait, What?” is more than just a book of short scripts. There are notes on filmmaking that are ideal for new or independent filmmakers, as well as a quick guide on how to read a script. This book is filled with screenplays to film, scripts to read as short stories, or notes to use as a guide when writing or filming a script. Enjoy all of the different genres, characters, and ideas in this book of collected original short screenplays.

My primary niche is green marketing: braiding together the commonalities between professional communication and personal activism. I’ve been in both the marketing and environmental worlds since the 1970s, and for the last dozen years, have worked to combine them more systematically (though I actually had a few green clients all the way back to the early days).

Author Bio:
I live with my wife, Mary Lynne, in southeastern Wisconsin. I spent thirty-two years as a Milwaukee police officer: Seven years doing undercover narcotics investigations and twenty-two years as a major crimes detective. Writing and reading have been lifelong passions; I began by writing short stories more than thirty years ago. Of course, police work provided both the insight and inspiration for my PI mystery novel, Portrait Of Murder. Two additional novels that feature my main character, Private Investigator Jack Blanchard, have been completed.
Who says you can’t travel with kids? Dan and I find out we can do just that as we set off with our two very young kids, first to live and work on an island far out in the Pacific, then on to the continent of Africa with a few stops in between. Armed with strollers, diapers, and too much luggage, we travel to over twenty-five countries throughout a ten year span, while working together as international overseas educators.
After surviving typhoon Yuri, almost being mauled by lions, and, nearly being shot by a presidential guard, we happily endure all of the good times and bad, while living life to the fullest. A decade’s worth of experiences and lifelong memories remain with us, as we return to the U.S., now with two teenagers in tow, and begin to experience our very own version of reverse culture shock.
Author Bio:
Since writing HERE WE ARE & THERE WE GO, her first memoir about her travels, Jill has lived in Cairo, Egypt; Gurgaon, India; and Tegucigalpa, Honduras, where she now resides with her husband, Dan. Her daughter graduates college soon and will travel to Honduras to teach. Her son is currently away at his first year of medical school. Every June, they travel from their separate locations and meet up together again, at their home on a lake in Wisconsin.
